What is a Non-Surgical Nose Job?

A non-surgical rhinoplasty is a procedure in which injectable fillers are used to alter the shape of the nose without invasive surgery. It can greatly improve the appearance of bumps or asymmetry (crooked) safely and quickly, without the risks and long, painful recovery associated with a traditional Rhinoplasty surgery. If you are concerned about the appearance of  your nose, such as eliminating a nasal dorsal hump, fixing a nasal deformity, or improving nasal tip shape, then a non-surgical nose job might be a good option for you.

The non-surgical nose job has become an increasingly popular treatment, specifically in patients who lack soft tissue fullness over the upper nasal dorsum called the radix. This non-invasive procedure is an excellent alternative for patients with a deficient radix and whom are against undergoing a surgical rhinoplasty. Surgery is replaced by the utilization of an injectable filler. The most common fillers used today are hyaluronic acid based, such as Restylane or Juvederm, but these only last for about six months. At the Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Institute we prefer to utilize Radiesse, a long lasting filler made from coral that mimics calcium hydroxyapatite (a naturally occurring mineral form of calcium) and lasts up to two years.

But How Does it Work?

To perform this procedure, we first provide either a topical or local anesthesia depending on the amount of filler that is required and the patient’s personal preference. Once the area is appropriately numbed, filler is then injected under the nasal skin, generally in the deep subcutaneous tissue over the nasal bone. Unwanted dents, divots, or asymmetry are “filled in” and fixed. The beauty of this procedure is that, rather quickly and with no pain, instant long-lasting results can be achieved.
